About the event

Why Attend

Join us in Boulder, Colorado for a unique opportunity to network with industry leaders, academic scholars, and researchers from national labs as they come together to discuss the development of applications and platforms that push personalized intelligence to the edge of the network.  This is a must-attend event for those in the aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, national labs, and high-tech sectors looking to build intelligence platforms that predict, automate, detect, and diagnose.

Goals

  • be thinking partners with the movers and shakers in IoT from industry, national labs, and academia
  • network with faculty at our 3 partner universities - University of Colorado Boulder, Oregon State University and Oakland University of Michigan - who have complementary expertise in the interconnected world
  • meet PhD students (and future interns!) who will present their research in AI/ML, edge computing, smart manufacturing, smart transportation and AI-assisted technology.
  • learn how to leverage our industry-university consortium to advance your own organization's R&D efforts

Venue

The event will be at the Village Center at the Williams Village Campus of the University of Colorado Boulder (500 30th St, Boulder, CO 80303, USA). Use "Village Center Dining" in Google Maps.

Parking is available in Lot 614. You will receive an email with a parking code, or ask about it at the check-in desk. Each use of the code lasts for 12 hours.

There is a convenience store (Village Market) inside Village Center, as well as a UPS Store.

Accommodation

There are discounted conference rates at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Boulder and the Hilton Garden Inn Boulder --- among the newest hotels in Boulder. Register for further details and book by March 23, 2023. Parking is $16 per night.

Transportation in Boulder

Boulder is a bike and transit-friendly town. If you're coming just for the meeting, you don't necessarily need a car. Renting a car may be more costly and a hassle than it's worth, particularly given that you need to take an airport shuttle from the terminal to the rental car center.

The Embassy Suites and the Hilton Garden Inn are next to each other and about 1.5 miles from the event venue: ~10 minutes by car, ~15 minutes by bike, ~20 minutes by bus, or ~40 minutes walking.

As you're planning your route, note that there's construction happening at 30th St. & Colorado Ave. intersection --- about halfway between the hotels and the event venue. Southbound cyclists need to merge with cars, and pedestrians need to use the sidewalk on the east side.

Boulder BCycle is a bikeshare with an all e-bike fleet. There are docks right next to the hotels and the venue site. Lime e-scooters are also an option. Bring your own helmet.

The frequent RTD Bound route (public transit bus) from 30th & Canyon (0.4 miles from the hotels) to Baseline & 30th (0.2 miles from the venue) is a good option. You can pay busfare by app (or cash).

Uber/Lyft are also available.

The W/WL BuffBus runs between the CU Boulder main campus and the Williams Village campus where our venue is located.

Airport

Fly into Denver International Airport (DEN). Boulder is about 45 minutes from the airport. (Rocky Mountain Metro Airport (BJC) is a small airport about 15 minutes away from Boulder and has a few public charter flights on JSX.)

To rent a car, you need to take an airport shuttle from the terminal to the rental car center which can be a bit of a hassle.

Taking an Uber/Lyft or taxi from the airport is possible but can get expensive. Uber/Lyft fares start at ~$60.

The RTD SkyRide public express bus is comfortable and convenient. The AB route goes from the airport transit center from the south end of the terminal to Boulder. To save time, I suggest taking the AB until the US-36 & Table Mesa Station, which is the first stop in Boulder. Then, take an Uber/Lyft to your hotel.
